What is manual drainage?
It is a treatment to improve microvasculature and reduce the content of liquids in tissues. By working osmotically, it stimulates drainage and elimination of post-operative oedema. Manual drainage is the first procedure recommended after undergoing a liposuction procedure. It can prevent the formation of adipose tissue protuberance and lumpiness.
What does the treatment involve?
For the massage, olive oil is used as lubricant to reduce the discomfort. Delicate, smooth movements towards lymph nodes and a massage of the areas targeted during the liposuction drain the fluid away to reduce oedema. Immediately after the treatment, the patient feels alleviation.
What effects can be expected after the procedure?
- Improvement of microvasculature, reduction of water retained in the body,
- Drainage stimulation
- Toxin elimination
How many treatments are required to achieve the desired effect?
At least 5 treatments should be performed. The number and type of the treatments depends on the healing process and is determined by the doctor and physiotherapist.
What is the aftercare?
No additional skincare regime is required.
