FUE or Follicular Unit Extraction is the latest method of transplanting hair from the occipital region (back of the head) to the areas of lower hair density (most often top of the head or receding hairlines).
During the procedure, hair follicle units are extracted using special tools, the minimum diameter of which is 0.8 mm.
Hair follicles are then counted, evaluated and prepared for implantation in the recipient areas.
The FUE hair transplant is primarily recommended for patients suffering from androgenic hair loss. It is a pattern of hair loss which most often presents in men, although women are also frequently suffering from it. The problem may occur as early as around the 18th – 20th year of life and lead to serious insecurities or even depressive episodes. Being aware of what causes this condition and what are the possible treatments is extremely important for patients with androgenic hair loss. Apart from the hair transplant, it is also essential to introduce therapies preventing further progression of the hair loss processes.
The above-mentioned method of treatment is also a good solution for patients with scars. Thanks to FUE procedure we are able to extract hair follicle units and cover unpleasantly looking marks on the hair skin of the scalp.
